Objectives: 1)Identify advances in our understanding of the pathophysiology and genetics of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. 2) Review recent findings on the relationship among psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and comorbidities, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity. 3) Predict the impact of treatment decisions for patients with comorbidities. 4) Outline an appropriate treatment plan for patients based on severity of disease, comorbidities, physical condition, and emotional functioning.
