"A Case-Based Approach to Managing Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis in Patients with Comorbidities"

Objectives: 1)Identify advances in our understanding of the pathophysiology and genetics of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. 2) Review recent findings on the relationship among psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and comorbidities, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity. 3) Predict the impact of treatment decisions for patients with comorbidities. 4) Outline an appropriate treatment plan for patients based on severity of disease, comorbidities, physical condition, and emotional functioning. AAD CREDIT STATEMENT: The American Academy of Dermatology certified that this educational activity has been recognized for 2 hours of AAD Category I credit and may be used toward the American Academy of Dermatology’s Continuing Medical Education Award. AMA/ACCME 2007 Accreditation Statement: The Wayne State University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
