A mediation on love, betrayal, fear and desperation. Audiences began to applaud Ibsen’s creative mix of realism and expressionism in his compelling portrait of a middle-aged architect who assesses his obsessive drive to succeed. This play tells the tale of an ageing builder’s struggle to maintain his crumbling career while reaching out for the love of a beautiful woman.
