“Issues in National Security and the Root Causes of Terrorism”

Dr. Richard Chasdi will discuss various issues surrounding Terrorism and National Security. Dr. Chasdi is an adjunct assistant professor at the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies and adjunct faculty in the Master of Arts in Dispute Resolution (MADR) program at Wayne State University. He has been a news consultant on Middle East terrorism and Middle East political affairs for several television networks. He received a B.A. in Politics from Brandeis University, an M.A. in Political Science from Boston College, and received his Ph.D. in Political Science from Purdue University. His first book, Serenade of Suffering: A Portrait of Middle East Terrorism, received Choice magazine's "Outstanding Academic Title" award. His second book, Tapestry of Terror: A Portrait of Middle East Terrorism expands on work done previously with respect to methodology and scope.
